Dubai is the second most densely populated emirate (about 1.200.000), after Abu Dhabi. Dubai is situated in the North of the United Arab Emirates, it shares borders with Abu Dhabi and Sharjah and is situated on the Persian Gulf.

Much of Dubai’s landscape is highlighted by sandy desert patterns, with the exception of the largest cities and the coastline.

Dubai or Dubai City is the rapidly expanding capital city and is surrounded by skyscrapers. The Dubai Creek, a natural inlet which is similar to a river, runs through the city starting from the Persian Gulf and divides it into two sections: Dubai is situated in the west, while the eastern section of the city forms the locality of Deira.

Dubai has a hot and, at times, humid climate. Rainfall is generally light and is usually centred between November and March, when both temperatures (from 15 to 36°C) and humidity rate do not reach high levels.
